They are precision machined using computer controlled processes, heat treated, CNC triple-lapped and Rockwell tested for hardness. These extra steps ensure excellent fitment, ideal contact pattern and smooth, quiet operation.
The Nitro Big Pinion Conversion Kit for Dana 44:

• Offers you a significant increase in strength over your typical Dana 44axle with the later New Generation type gears used in 2007-Present Jeep Wrangler JK axles

The Difference:

• Larger 24 spline (Dana 60 sized) Pinion shaft which measures 1.25 inches vs standard 26 spline shaft which measures 1.11 inches
• Larger 8.875 inch diameter ring gear vs Standard 8.5 inch ring gear
