B&W Trailer Hitches History

B&W Trailer Hitches is a true American success story. The company got its start in the sleepy little town of Humboldt, Kansas in 1987. Two friends, Roger Baker, and Joe Works put their collective experience together to revolutionize the trailer hitch industry, or as they put it, "we didn't invent the trailer hitch, but we made everyone else reinvent theirs."

Roger and Joe believed that a traditional gooseneck hitch had one fundamental flaw, it was completely immovable. They envisioned a new type of gooseneck hitch that would be just as secure as a traditional hitch, but with the added benefit of being able to be moved out of the way when not in use. Their solution was the Turnover ball Gooseneck Hitch - a device that houses the main mounting bracket underneath the bed of the truck, allowing for the gooseneck itself to be quickly detached. B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch
The Turnoverball hitch is incredibly simple to remove and comes with an ingenious storage method when the truck is in flatbed mode. With the turn of a latch pin handle hidden under your truck, the gooseneck ball can be freely removed. Simply turn the ball upside down, drop it back into its hole, and secure the latch pin again. Your truck is now in a flatbed configuration with the gooseneck hitch is stored securely inside its mounting bracket. The process can just as quickly be reversed to convert your truck back into a hitch with a solid tow connection on the back. It's easy to see why this elegant design is the best selling gooseneck hitch in the United States.

B&W Companion 5th Wheel
The Companion 5th Wheel comes with all of the offerings you'd expect from a traditional 5th wheel hitch system. It has a fully articulated head which allows for movement forward, backward, left and right. Its wide stance creates a steady and strong tow connection, and it's polyurethane bushings dampen vibrations and reduce rattles. All of this comes standard with any premium 5th wheel system. The standout advantage of the B&W Companion is the fact that it can be removed in a matter of minutes. There are no mounting rails like you'd normally expect on this type of system, which allows for rapid conversion to a flatbed mode with the removal of a few pins and mounting nuts. What's more, the Companion 5th Wheel attaches to a standard Turnoverball under-bed mounting system, meaning that you can quickly swap the same truck from a gooseneck hitch to a 5th wheel system.

B&W Tow & Stow
B&W likes to call their Tow & Stow system "the last hitch you'll ever need" and there's certainly a strong argument to be made for that title. The Tow & Stow boasts three different receiver sizes (2 inch, 2.5 inch and 3 inch) and can be adjusted in one-inch increments to sit at the perfect height for whatever you are trying to tow. They offer models with dual or triple hitch balls in multiple sizes. In usual B&W fashion, the hitch can be easily stowed out of the way when you no longer need it. Simply remove the mounting pins from the assembly, flip the hitch backward, and replace the pins to conceal the hitch safely under the chassis of your vehicle.
